How to remember it
Two dashes raining down from above, then a hook — a tsunami falling.
ツ is three strokes: two short near-vertical marks along the top, then a long stroke that curves down and to the left.
Written next to its hiragana partner つ, the family resemblance is obvious — both hook the same way. That link is worth using: if you know つ, you already half know ツ.
